Rajasthan is the largest state in India covering mostly of the Desert of Thar on the west side of Pakisthan.
The Indus Valley Civilization, one of the world’s oldest and ancient civilization, was located in Rajasthan. Kalibangan in Hanumangarh district, Rajasthan was a major Provincial capital of the Indus Valley Civilization.This large place has been inhibited since 2500 BC. The Indus Valley Civilization had its roots in northern portion of Rajasthan where tribes BHIl and Mina dwelled. Apart from this two specified tribes, the Rajputs, Nath, Jats, Ahirs and Gujars had also their major contribution in building the state of Rajasthan.
The Rajputs arose from the mixing of varous races that took place in Rajasthan arounf 1400 BC. Among these includes Afgans, Turks, Persian and Mughals. The Rajput with all their wealth and power gaines the reign over the land of Rajasthan. Despite of all the difficulties and barriers from the enemies, the Rajputs remained on control until the 14th century. Maharana Pratap Singh took the hold of the Rajput Kingdom in the Sixteenth Century. After the Rajputs decline, the Mughals’ took the control in place through the leadership of their Emperor named Akbar. They were able to do that by planning of making a maritial relations with Rajputs. But atlast the plan didnt work and the Mughal’s control didnt last for long. The Rajputs were back again with the full control of power and regain their kingdom. Until now, Rajputs’ descendents have high influences over the common people. For that reason, they are said to be considered as a living image of thee knightly noble, brave and handsome . Even under the British Empireship, the Rajputs were able to gain importance as they were given durbars, royal polo matches and even 21 gun salutes. After India became independent, 23 princely states were combined forming the state of Rajasthan. In this present duration of time, people’s flock music and dance retains the heroic exploits of Rajput warrior kings such asa Bhappa Rawal, Rana Kumbha , and Prithviraj Chauhan.
When the Arab took in place in Rajasthan, the Rajputs dominance faced a great threat. The immediate response was defensive and the Arabs were repulsed. Gazni in Afganisthan was occupied by the decade of 8th century, and after a while, there army went to India where a lot of temples were desyroyed and valuable matters were taken. All of this destruction was been causede by Mahmud, the leader of Gazni army. After his dominition, the control over Rajasthan were taken by Mahmud of Ghori. The land of Delhi and Aimer were captured by Muslims and were up to now, they remain as muslims.
As the Delhi sultanate weakened in the 16th Century, The Rajputs tried to expand their territory however were not successful because they got defeated by Empires they faced specifically by Babur.
