Rajasthan – It’s Wild Life

Rajasthan is mostly known for being the home to the sole desert of India. Majestic palaces,along with the fortresses have enhanced its appeal. The rich culture,cuisine,and handicraft have lend an irresistible charm to this state. But we hardly are aware of the wildlife of Rajasthan. It’s wild life is full of variety, and you would be compelled to visit the state,just to experience this unique side of the state.
The state has many sanctuaries. Let us begin our wild ride with the sanctuary that is the abode of the royal beast; Ranthombhore National Park is the sanctuary where,the tigers roam around. The place is in eastern Rajasthan. The tiger reserve is definitely the main draw. Some beautiful lakes are in the place. There are plenty other animals which have added variety; like,Chital, Nilgai, Mongoose, Sambar and other types of animals could be viewed too. Different species of birds are also found here. Sariska National Park is another tiger reserve;however it has comparatively less numbers of tigers than Ranthombhore. The presence of other predators like Leopard, Hyena, Civet,etc,will be enough to engross your mind.Chital,Nilgai,Wild Boar, Langur, and many Rhesus monkeys are also the dwellers of this park.Moving on to another wild ground, in the southeast of Kota is Darrah Wildlife Sanctuary.Covered in dense forest this place has Leopards,Wolves,Chinkara. The city of lakes,Udaipur besides having magnificent lakes, has something to offer to the animal lovers too; if you keep moving to the west side of the city, you will find your self entering a sanctuary where you will meet the mighty Panther. Sajjangar Wildlife Sanctuary, has this predator along with Hyena, Jackal.The herbivores that add color to the sanctuary are Chital, Sambar, Wild Boar, Blue Bell. The north eastern side of the state has something interesting to surprise, the tourists with; in this part you have Tal Chaper Sanctuary where you will be mesmerized to find the exotic animal, Black Buck;three types of antelopes could be found here. This place has over hundreds of species of birds including the migratory ones. Simply watch the Black Bucks leaping gracefully,or watch the birds fly around,undisturbed by any thing. Black Bucks are also found at the next place we are about to visit,Desert National Park;home to animals like Chinkara, Desert Fox, Desert Cat,Wolf. Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary, which got it’s name from the fort of Kumbhalgarh,has Chaisingh,Leopard,Nilgai,Hyena,Wolf; Peacock, Dove,Golden Oriole etc, have enriched the diversity of birds.National Chambal Sanctuary,has other than Nilgais,Chinkara, Mangoose, Chital, Sambar,Otter,Crocodile,seven types of Tortoise,over hundreds of types of birds and many types of fishes.
There are other great Sanctuaries,where interesting wild life could be seen;but for that you need to come here. You can go for, wild life tours,and be a part of the safaris and watch the wild life of Rajasthan unfold before your eyes.
